An inguinalherniais a weakness occurs in the wall of abdominal cavity which is very large enough to allow escape of the soft bodytissueor internal organ, particularly a part of the intestine.
It generally appears as a lump & for some of the people it can also cause the pain and discomfort, limit daily activities & the ability to do the work. If the bowel strangulates or it becomes obstructed it will be very critical. Aherniawill be repaired usually by usage of a synthetic mesh either with the open surgery or by increasingly using less invasive laparoscopic methods. The most common type of laparoscopic techniques for inguinalherniarepair were transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) repair & totally extraperitoneal (TEP) repair. In TAPP the surgeon will goes into the peritoneal cavity & places a mesh by a peritonealincisionover the possibleherniasites. In case of TEP, it is different in that the peritoneal cavity wont enter and mesh is used to seal and cover theherniafrom outside the peritoneum (a thin membrane which covers the organs in the abdomen). This method is considered to be more difficult when compared with TAPP but it may have some fewer complications.
